Demba Ba’s short stay at Chelsea could be coming to an end with the striker set for a move to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, the Daily Mirror reports.
Mourinho is planning on signing his own strikers this summer and will not be needing the former Newcastle man.
Ba has reportedly already rejected the chance to move to West Ham and West Bromwich Albion and will instead move to the big spending Russian club.
Ba scored six times for Chelsea last season but was used sparingly even then by Rafa Benitez, making many of his appearances from the bench.
Anzhi are set to offer Ba a lucrative contract to join them this summer and the striker will hope that he gets more first team opportunities in Russia.
With Ba set to leave, Jose Mourinho’s clear out of the Chelsea squad is going well, with John Obi Mikel set for a move to Galatasaray and Marko Marin already on his way to Sevilla on loan.
Mourinho can now press ahead with his own transfer targets and is hoping to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani or Borussia Dortmund front-man Robert Lewandowski.
