But ace admits he is only focused on Sarsfield.
Sunderland are hoping to wrap up a deal for highly rated Argentinian wide man Gino Peruzzi from Velez Sarsfield, Sky Sports reports.
However, the talented 21-year-old is set to feature for Sarsfield against Newell’s Old Boys in the Argentine league final at the weekend and he has insisted he is only concentrating on that game.
Peruzzi, who is the cousin of former Italian international goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi, came to the Black Cats attention in the 2012 Copa Libertadores when he effortlessly marked Neymar out of their semi-final clash with Santos.
The player himself is reported to have confirmed the offer from Sunderland but said: “My mind is set on Newell’s, and then we will see.”
His general manager – former Newcastle United midfielder Christian Bassedas confirmed that Peruzzi may not be at the club for much longer.
“He is the one that is closer to leaving the club,” he told Ole.
The right-back-cum-right-winger has made just a handful of appearances for the club but has already gained four international caps for Argentina and due to his Italian lineage he would be able to secure a European passport relatively easily, meaning he would not require a work permit to play in the Premier League.
