Tottenham Target Saint-Etienne Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Spurs want to sign two strikers this summer and have targeted £10 million rated Aubameyang.

Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry into the possibility of signing St-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang according to the Daily Mirror.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas wants to sign two strikers this summer in a bid to boast the clubs chances of qualifying for next seasons Champions League and look set to bid £10 million for Aubameyang.

The North London club have also opened talked with Barcelona about signing striker David Villa.

Tottenham are one of a number of clubs who are interested in Villa and are moving fast in their bid to sign the Spanish international.

Spurs have moved for Aubameyang because they are making little progress in their approaches for other strikers.

The clubs long interest in Leo Damiao is not materialising into anything substantial and Aston Villa are demanding £30 million for highly rated striker Christan Benteke, so Spurs see Aubameyang as a much better investment.

The striker is also being tracked by Newcastle United but the main competition could come from big spending AS Monaco, who have already signed Columbian striker Falcao this summer.

Meanwhile, Jermain Defoe could be on his way out of White Hart Lane to make room for new signings.

Spurs are offering the England international to clubs for around £6 million and Fulham are thought to be interested.
