The FC Twente defender is weighing his options.
FC Twente defender Douglas is looking into several options, including a move to the Premier League according to his agent.
Sky Sports reports that the Dutch defender will leave FC Twente at the end of the month, with his contract set to expire and he has had offers from a number of Premier League clubs.
Newcastle United are thought to be amongst the front-runners for the defenders signature, having had a long running interest in the player.
The club have tried to sign Douglas before but were denied by FC Twente and are thought to still be interested in the defender.
Douglas agent said, “At the moment there is nothing official, we were in Europe last week and have some options”.
The defender is desperate to book his place in the Netherlands squad for next summers World Cup in Brazil and will have to make sure the decision about where he plays next season is the right one.
Newcastle have their eyes on a few players this summer, with boss Alan Pardew looking to strengthen a team that underachieved last season.
The club are said to be thinking about bringing back former striker Andy Carroll but are unwilling to pay more than £10 million for a player who can be quite injury prone.
