Lambert set to continue adding to young squad.
Aston Villa have completed a deal to sign highly rated Dutch winger Leandro Bacuna from Groningen, according to the the club’s official website.
The 21-year-old is to complete a medical and then sign on for the Midlanders for a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million.
Villa boss Paul Lambert is hoping to make at least six new additions to his squad after the likes of Darren Bent and Shay Given have been told that they can leave the club whilst Richard Dunne and Stiliyan Petrov have already seen their contracts expire.
If he does seal his switch he’ll join fellow new boy Aleksander Tonev to the club, who agreed a deal to join from Polish giants Lech Poznan last week.
Bacuna first broke into the Groningen side in 2009 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Eredivise club, scoring 14 goals. He is an established Dutch under-21 international and earlier this season he rejected the chance to join relegation rivals Reading, but is apparently keen to link up with Villa.
His impending arrival could also spell the beginning of the end for Charles N’Zogbia who fell out of favour with the club towards the end of the season.
