Vitoria Guimaraes striker Amido Balde looks set to complete his move to Celtic within the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old flew into Glasgow on Monday morning to meet with club officials and now hopes to wrap up the move on Tuesday following a medical.
Balde began his career with Sporting Lisbon but was let go before he made a single first team appearance and subsequently toured the lower reaches of Europe before landing in Guimaraes last summer.
He had been linked with a move to Premier League new boys Crystal Palace earlier in the season but his agent, Tommy Langley, has insisted that a move to south London was never in the pipeline as the prospect of Champions League football was too great to turn down.
“He is going to speak to Celtic and see where we go,” said Langley. “He is very keen. You can see he has a scarf round his neck and he is a happy boy.
“Crystal Palace is a non-runner – never was a runner. There were quite a few other clubs in the frame but we are here at the moment and let’s see how this goes
“He is a big strong lad, athletic, great touch, great feel and he is a boy who is ready now but who can only get better. You wouldn’t want to pick him up from corners, would you?
