Real Madrid have completed a deal to re-sign Bayer Leverkusen right-back Daniel Carvajal according to the Bernabeu side’s official website.
The 21-year-old right back, who is a graduate of Real’s academy and a Spanish Under-21 international, has agreed terms on a six-year deal.
Carvajal was voted the best right back in the Bundesliga by German daily newspaper Bild last term, and was a pivotal member of Sami Hyypia’s Bayer Leverkusen side’s successful push for a Champions League berth.
The move will perhaps leave Alvaro Arbeloa considering his options as Carvajal will certainly be pressing to wrestle the first team spot from the former Liverpool man.
Carvajal failed to secure a single senior appearance for Real Madrid before he was sold to Bayer Leverkusen and impressed greatly at the BayArena side, making 35 starts in all competitions and providing seven assists in the process.
Real Madrid are believed to have paid €6.5m (£5.5m) to re-sign the youngster.
