Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly eyeing a move for Levente youngster Ruben Garcia after rave reports from the club’s scouting system, according to The Mirror.
The 19-year-old winger made his breakthrough into the Levante first team in September and has gone on to impress by bagging four goals in 28 appearances this season.
He is aware of the interest being shown in him by the Premier League side and has admitted that he would be open to a move should Wenger make his move.
“In Spain there are very great and historic teams, but yes, I would like to travel abroad and I would have to think about it because they are a big club,” he said.
Garcia is expected to be a key part of the Spanish squad at the under-21 European Championship in Israel this summer and will be watched further by Arsenal scout Steve Round after the winger impressed him with his defensive work rate as well as his direct approach to attacking.
In the first half of the season he was used as a peripheral player, providing pace and energy in the latter stages of games. In that time he became Levante’s youngest ever league goalscorer, notching against Real Mallorca at the age of 19 years, four months and 26 days.
