Emirates Stadium side set sights on French Under 21 international.
Arsenal are readying a summer move for Auxerre striker Yaya Sanogo according to the Metro.
Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his Gunners attack and has earmarked a move for the French Under 21 international who has been in exceptional form thus far this season, scoring seven goals in four games for the Ligue 2 side.
Interest in Sanogo reached a peak last month when the 20 year old scored seven goals within a week and now Wenger is looking to lure the powerful forward to the Emirates Stadium, a move that could perhaps be aided if the North London side secures a Champions League berth for next term.
Wenger has relied heavily on Olivier Giroud this term, with the former Montpellier man experiencing something of an up and down debut campaign in the English top tier. The Arsenal boss has also attempted to convert Theo Walcott into an out and out forward with varying degrees of success so one can see why the Arsenal manager would look to beef up his front-line.
Some Arsenal fans would question the wisdom of looking to bring in yet another youthful option, and one with no top level experience, but clearly if Wenger feels that Sanogo is a player with potential he may well be the man to make the most of the quality the Auxerre man may have.
