Imagine its 1993 and you play for HFS Loans League team Congleton. You and your team mates arrive at the ground and are told that you will be conducting one minutes silence to commemorate the clubs eldest supporter, who has recently passed away. You walk onto the pitch infront of your adoring fans and sure enough the one minutes silence begins.
Now picture the supposedly dead supporter walk onto the pitch halfway through the minutes silence…
This was the case when Congleton were forced to call off a minute’s silence to mourn the death of the club’s oldest fan… when he walked into the ground.
