Pardon the Pun..
The Rumour:
Manchester United have cooled their pursuit of Douglas Costa, the Brazilian forward, amid frustration at the exorbitant demands of Grêmio.
United opened negotiations with Grêmio last month, but discussions are unlikely to resume this summer unless the Brazilian club dramatically reduce a prohibitive £20 million asking price for the teenager.

My Thoughts:
This is probably for the best as £20M for a teenager is a huge risk. I feel Sir Alex has learnt his lesson after the purchase of Nani and Anderson for such high prices. Don’t get me wrong. Anderson is a quality player, but when you spend 18M on an attacking midfielder you expect them to bag goals, or at the very least grab a shed load of assists.
Nani on the other hand hasn’t made an impact at all. I imagine that he pictures himself as a finely tuned Ferrari, when in reality he is still on the assembly line waiting to be pieced together.
In all honesty I am surprised that we are even reading about this story at all, especially seeing as Sir Alex came out and said the club had finished spending.
Likeliness: I don’t think so.
