When Habib Beye was dismissed early into Newcastle‘s match with Manchester City on Monday, you feared the worst for United, who were quickly a goal down and being forced to practically camp in their own half. However, by the end of the match, they were ruing the fact that they had conceded a late equaliser to the visitors; are the Magpies showing definite signs of recovery?
Joe Kinnear was clearly exciteable after a match where his team so very nearly nicked the three points and moved out of the relegation zone. However, it’s clear that the interim manager has instilled plenty of fighting spirit into his charges, with The Guardian reporting that his team were bouncing off the walls after the final whistle.
“We’re unfortunate not to have won against a decent side,” enthused Kinnear. “But the dressing room’s on fire. Everyone’s delighted.”
Newcastle fans, are you pleased to have seen your team come from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Everton and Manchester City? Do you think that Joe Kinnear should be given the job on a permanent basis, or do you think the former Wimbledon manager is only a short-term solution?
