Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t quite have the propensity of signing too many ‘old’ players; he is more into signing younger players and grooming them into world class. So there is little surprise that the Frenchman has decided not to take on board the 33-year Brazilian midfielder Mineiro.

Mineiro was released by German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin at the end of last season but he failed to find any club that would have taken him in. And then he went to Arsenal in an effort to impress the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and had been taken behind-closed-door trials for the past few days.
But it seems that Mineiro, formerly at Sao Paulo and a Copa America 2007 player with Brazilian has been rejected by Arsenal and is on his way out to find another club. And in football, as in life, one man’s loss is another man’s gain.
It has been reported that Championship side Birmingham City would be eager to take on board the 25 times Brazilian international. Mineiro is expected to go on a trial at St. Andrew’s in the next few days.
