It looks like the Spurs squad has given sulky striker Dimitar Berbatov the silent treatment after he was dropped (or did he refuse to play?) at the weekend.
Everyone’s favourite tabloid rag The S*n brings us word that the Spurs squad have clearly had enough of their truculent Bulgarian:
DIMITAR BERBATOV got the cold shoulder from his Spurs team-mates yesterday.
None of them spoke to the surly striker when he returned to training for the first time since being axed for Saturday’s defeat by Sunderland.
The entire Tottenham squad followed our SunSport columnist Ian Wright’s advice and sent Berba to Coventry for trying to force a move to Manchester United.
Even skipper Ledley King told his team-mates to forget about the stroppy Bulgarian and focus on beating Chelsea on Sunday. (The S*n)
You have to wonder quite what shade of rouge the Lord of the Ferg’s nose will turn if Dimi tries one of his strops at Old Trafford. Now that Tottenham have nearly got rid of their mopey Bulgarian, the real work begins, bringing in someone who isn’t in a permanent state of disgruntlement. Pavlyuchenko anyone?
