Just weeks Pablo Aimar after looked ready to put pen to paper on a deal three-year deal to join Quique Sánchez Flores at Benfica, the former Real Zaragoza midfielder appears to be getting cold feet.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Aimar, who was all set to leave the relegated Spanish club this summer for the Portugal, believes that the financial rewards and glory of the Premiership is just too much to pass up. He’s hoping that his painful cries will be heard by two specific English clubs.

Whilst it remains to be seen if Aimar still has what it takes to make it physical world of the Premiership, there’s no doubt that his skill would be welcomed at both Newcastle and Everton. Both could be interested, but Zaragoza’s lack of communication in naming a transfer fee (some say the fee is £6.3m) has scared some clubs off.
Would Newcastle or Everton supporters be interested in Aimar? Do you think either club would stump up £6.3m for his services?
