Emmanuel Adebayor is fast becoming the new Didier Drogba. The striker’s indecision appears to be there for all to see, firstly claiming (through his agent) that he’s likely to leave for Milan, then stating he’s sticking around at Arsenal, and now declaring that a move could be on the cards again.
Not only that, but the Togolese striker reckons it could be a good thing for the Gunners if they were to lose him. The Daily Mirror reports that Adebayor claims that there would be a huge financial benefit by selling him to Milan or Barcelona for a reported figure of £47million – although will that sort of money really exchange hands?
“It won’t be a difficult decision. If Arsenal sell me, they are going to get £40m, maybe £47m and they bought me for £7m.
“So everyone is getting the benefits. They have to make a good decision and I have to make a good decision as well.”
While the striker may be partially correct by saying the above, it’s surely going to become increasingly difficult for Arsene Wenger to keep unearthing these gems and selling them on for profit. While the big European clubs seemingly prefer to go for players who have proven themselves on a big stage and pay big money, sooner or later they will start getting wiser to Arsenal’s way of accruing players and follow suit.
