Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill might be on the verge of going mentally insane with Liverpool beating down the door for his prized midfielder, but thankfully that hasn’t stopped him from trying to go out and make the best of a sour situation. The Guardian is reporting that O’Neill is interested in bringing Atlético Madrid right-back Giourkas Seitaridis in next season to fill a hole in his defense.

The Greek was instrumental in helping Atlético make the Champions League next season, and would be a much welcomed addition to a Villa defense that at times seemed to crumble under the pressure. The only question remaining is if Seitaridis would be willing to make a move from potential Champions League glory, to a team that won’t take part in European competition next season.
