Chelsea squandered away a 3-1 lead over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the Premiership on Wednesday to draw 3-3 with their London rivals and manager Avram Grant is visibly annoyed and frustrated.
Grant remarks:
Of course when we lead three times and we don’t win the game we are not so happy.
I am very happy with the spirit and very happy with the goals we scored but again in the Carling Cup we lost from two set-pieces and tonight we conceded from three.
They came back from 3-1 to 3-3 so it’s disappointing but I am very happy with our spirit.
It was a game that was good for the supporters but for us we wanted to win and we didn’t so we are very disappointed.
I think every team that has the lead three times in a game and doesn’t win is not happy especially when we came with the right spirit and the right attitude and we don’t win.
Chelsea led Spurs three times but managed to let their advantage slip on all of those three occasions. They have further fallen down in the title race and maybe, just maybe, the Blues are out of the Premiership title chase this season.
