Birmingham City are 19th in the Premiership table at the moment but are level on 22 points with third from bottom Reading. Yet the Midland club’s chairman David Gold is confident that the Blues can survive the drop to the Championship at the end of the season and remain in the top flight for one more season at least.
Gold remarks:
The window has been closed for a couple of weeks now and I don’t overly mind about that in the sense we’ve now got to get the best out of our players – and I do believe we’ve got the players who can keep us in the Premier League. I believe the manager has brought in some quality players who we hope can help make the difference for us.
Birmingham have signed McFadden, David Murphy and Mauro Zarate in January and these players are expected to play a massive part at St. Andrew’s for the remainder of the reason. Yet something tells you that Birmingham wouldn’t possibly be able to survive the drop and if they do, they need to pray 24 hours a day.
