Following their 1-0 win away at Burnley, the north London club brought their winning streak to eight games which has seen them leapfrog Manchester City as the side most likely to cause any trouble to runaway leaders Chelsea.

The Citizens looked set to finish in second, behind Jose Mourinho’s Blues who are beating a steady path to the Premier League trophy for the first time in five years. Despite that, a dip in form which has seen Pellgrini’s side falter against Crystal Palace and Burnley means they can now only aim for consolidating a top four position.

Legendary striker Henry also believes that he didn’t think Manchester United would regain their spot in the Champions League under Louis van Gaal, tipping Liverpool to snatch it away from them.

Despite their poor form, Manchester City still hold a proud record of having won the last four derbies against their city rivals and Henry believes no matter what happens the hierarchy at the Etihad Stadium should stick with him,

Quoted in The Mirror, Henry said, “It is a crazy season. I never thought United would finish in the top four nor Arsenal be in the top two. I thought Liverpool would go on a long unbeaten run to clinch a top-four spot.

“Chelsea have been the only consistent team. Adding the title to the Capital One Cup would be a fantastic achievement for Jose Mourinho.

“Yet it will be no more than Manuel Pellegrini did last year – and City must not forget that.”

The former Gunner and Barcelona man has been impressed with how quickly Dutchman Louis van Gaal has managed to turn around the fortunes of Manchester United, after having looked so disappointing under David Moyes.
