Koeman not impressed with the Serbian international’s extravagant celebration.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has criticised the Saints’ goalscoring hero Dusan Tadic following his dramatic winner against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, report the Daily Star, with the Dutchman unhappy that Tadic picked up a yellow card for an exuberant celebration that saw him hurl his shirt to the Old Trafford turf in delight.

Tadic reacted quickest after a shot from top scorer Graziano Pelle came back off the post into the path of the former FC Twente man, with Tadic keeping his cool to guide a sidefooted finish beyond David de Gea and a man on the line before it nestled in the back of the net.

He wheeled away towards the Saints fans celebrating in a corner of Old Trafford, whipping off his shrit in delight after his game-changing impact as a substitute, but Koeman felt that the celebration was unnecessary and was not happy that Tadic picked up a booking:

“I don’t like that. It is a yellow card and a stupid fault, your second and it is a red. When it is the last minute of the season and you have qualified for Europe, it is not a problem. I don’t like that. Keep your shirt on.”

Tadic’s impact came just six minutes after he had come on as a substitute for debutant Eljero Elia, but he was lucky to be on the pitch in time to net the winner, having had to rush to the dressing room to find his shin pads after being summoned by Koeman.
