Koscielny came off just three minutes into the second half with tightness in his thigh, whilst Ramsey was replaced by Mathieu Flamini on 61 minutes with an ankle issue.

However, following the impressive showing of his side, Arsene Wenger insisted that the physical problems suffered by both players weren’t anything serious.

“Koscielny has a little tightness in his thigh & Ramsey is an ankle problem, but it’s not bad,” said the Frenchman in his post match press conference according to ESPN’s Ben Dinnery.

The news will come as a welcome relief to Arsenal fans who have seen both players’ seasons cut short by recurring problems.

Ramsey has suffered three individual hamstring injuries which has hampered his ability to have a similar impact to his incredible season in 2013/14 at saw him score an incredible 10 goals and provide eight assists.

Though to be fair to the Welshman, he has still managed a not too shabby return of seven goals and six assists.

Koscielny meanwhile has suffered with chronic tendinitis in his achilles tendons since the World Cup and was forced into missing a number of games at the start of the season looked to have overcome this particular problem.

Arsene Wenger will certainly be pleased it’s a small muscular problem rather than a return to his ankle troubles.

With their win over Liverpool, Arsenal were lifted to second in the Premier League whilst the reds now sit seven points off the top four with only seven games remaining in their season.
