Chelsea youngsters train with the squad at Stamford Bridge after returning from their respective failed loan spells

Chelsea youngsters Charly Musonda have been spotted by Sky Sports training with the first-team squad after returning from their respective failed loan moves.

Kenedy was involved in the Blues’ first-team squad last season, with both Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink seeing the Brazilian as a useful asset at full-back or on the wing. The 20-year-old made 20 appearances in total last term and scored two goals, including an excellent solo goal in the 39th second of his side’s clash with Norwich.

He was sent out on loan to Watford in the summer transfer window, as Chelsea looked to secure him regular first-team football to continue his development. Walter Mazzarri, however, did not appear to be a fan, and Kenedy made just one appearance more returning to his parent side.

Charly Musonda is widely seen as one of the most promising of Chelsea’s current crop of youngsters. He was given an extension to his loan at Real Betis as a chance to show his quality – but similarly to Kenedy, it didn’t go to plan. Musonda was used sparingly at Betis and has subsequently returned to Chelsea.

It remains to be seen whether Antonio Conte will keep either in his squad for the remainder of the season, or they will be shipped out on loan once more. This is Chelsea we’re talking about, so it’s more than likely to be the latter.
