Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria has spoken to the club’s official website about his recent dip in performances the pressure to perform at Old Trafford this season.

The Argentine, a £59.7m signing from Real Madrid in the summer, is the most expensive player in British football history, and has perhaps not lived up to expectations so far in the Premier League.
Despite a fine start, Di Maria has struggled of late, and rumours have circulated that he regrets leaving Madrid for United this season, prompting talk of a quick exit from the club this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain interested.
However, the 27-year-old thinks it is normal to suffer ups and downs in the game, and is not surprised he has not been able to build on a fine start earlier in the campaign.
“I’ve had a couple of games where things haven’t gone as well as they could have,” he said. “I think it’s part of that settling-in process to the English game.
“I started off quite well but I think that then made expectations rise and everyone thought I would just carry on in the same way. But football is like that, sometimes you have these ups and downs.
“It took me a while to settle fully in each of the countries where I’ve played before. I just have to keep working hard and focusing on what I want, which is to do as well as I possibly can.”
