Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera faces a ban from football or worse – a stint in jail – should he be found guilty of match fixing, according to the Daily Mirror.

Herrera, alongside Swansea’s Jefferson Montero, was named as part of a criminal complaint filed by Spanish anti-corruption authorities in Valencia.
A total of 41 players, managers and directors have also been implicated by Spanish prosecutor Alejandro Luzón, and all face the possibility to one to six-year bans from football or even a jail sentence if found guilty.
Twenty-five people have already been quizzed on the allegations, and some have apparently given evidence that Herrera, Montero and Atletico Madrid star Gabi are all involved in the scandal.
Bank paperwork showing the transferral of funds amounting to nearly one million Euros have been presented as part of the evidence, with the prosecution alleging that this was used to pay Levante players to lose their final-day fixture with Zaragoza at the end of the 2010-11 season.
Herrera is thought to be one of the players specifically named by Luzon as handing funds over to the Levante players.
