Adam Johnson has been sentenced to six years in prison for engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl, but it has now been revealed that he was also arrested last year on suspicion of possessing animal pornography, as reported by the Mirror.
The information wasn’t readily available previously, but following his sentencing the banning order on the facts have been lifted by a judge.
The report doesn’t actually state whether any animal porn was found, but it does reveal that he was arrested due to the material found on his laptop.
He was also found to have visited a site called “Nice Young Teens”, which will obviously have done his case a world of harm.
On top of all that, the former Sunderland winger was taking medication for sexually transmitted diseases when arrested just over a year ago.
“There were perhaps two types of medicine seized from the safe, prescribed to the defendant indicating he may be suffering from one or two sexually transmitted infections at the time,” the prosecuting QC said.
“That, together with the photos on the mobile telephone that appeared to show images of an infected penis.
“Messages between him and his girlfriend may lead to the conclusion any alleged conduct between him and the complainant would be aggravated by these matters.”
Johnson was found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, having already pleaded guilty to grooming and kissing the underage girl.
The 28-year-old apparently intends to appeal (via Sky), but with more and more damning evidence emerging it doesn’t seem like he has much of a chance.

Johnson has also been stripped of all 12 of his England caps – with the records totally wiped – as well as being forced to sign the sex offenders register following his sentencing (via Sky).
