The Daily Star report that the Arsenal crock is being linked with a return to his homeland; as Ligue 1 champions PSG are rumoured to be keen on his signature.
Nonetheless, the newspaper state that while the midfielder is on the Gunners’ list of released players, he is in talks with Arsene Wenger over extending his stay – but only if he can prove his fitness. It’s rumoured that Arsenal could offer the former Auxerre star a play-as-you-pay contract, and Wenger will allow the Frenchman to continue using the club’s training facilities to maintain his fitness [Daily Mail].
The 29-year-old moved from Auxerre to Arsenal in January 2006, and could finally end his injury-plagued nine years in North London this summer. In the last four years, the former France international has made just 16 Premier League starts and recorded only one appearance in the 2014-15 season in the League Cup.
