Manchester United have reportedly launched an opening bid for the transfer of Barcelona attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
In a somewhat surprise move, it could be that the former Liverpool star is being lined up for a quick return to the Premier League, having only left Anfield for the Nou Camp last winter.

Since that January move, however, Coutinho has rarely looked anything like as good as he was for Liverpool in a Barcelona shirt.
Still, given his world class ability if given the opportunities in the right position, Coutinho is now being targeted by United, according to Don Balon.
The Spanish outlet claims the Red Devils have tried an opening bid of around £108million, but it will take a lot more than that to persuade the Catalan giants to sell – more like £135m.
It remains to be seen if United would realistically go that high, but Coutinho could be a superb addition to this squad if they were able to pull it off.
The 26-year-old would most likely be a big upgrade on flop Alexis Sanchez, who hasn’t impressed since joining from Arsenal.
Coutinho coming in in an attacking midfield role would also likely allow players like Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to move more centrally, where they tend to be more effective.
