Manchester United are reportedly still interested in a potential transfer swoop for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.
The England international has been linked with the Red Devils for some time and ESPN state he’s still one of the options on their radar as they look to tighten up at the back.
Maguire has shone for Leicester and was one of the stand-out performers for England as they made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia last summer.
United could do with a powerful physical presence like him at the back, while he also has good quality on the ball that is becoming an increasingly vital asset in the modern game.
ESPN mention a number of other potential targets the Red Devils could move for, but one imagines fans would be pretty happy with Maguire.
The 25-year-old has proven himself in the Premier League, unlike players like Milan Skriniar, Alessio Romagnoli and Kalidou Koulibaly, who are also mentioned.
While those three have all impressed in Serie A, many big names have failed to settle in English football even if looking world class abroad.
United know that all too well with flop signings like Juan Sebastian Veron, Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria and Memphis Depay among the big name arrivals who failed to live up to expectations in Manchester.
Maguire could therefore be a safe bet for the club if they can persuade Leicester to sell.
Sky Sports linked the player with United in the summer but they struggled to get the deal done at that time.
