New Arsenal manager Unai Emery had one exciting observation to share from his side’s opening day defeat to Manchester City.
The Spanish tactician, who came in to replace the legendary Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium this summer, could not avoid a poor start as his team were beaten 2-0 by City on his first Premier League outing.

However, Emery did note that he liked what he saw from youngster Matteo Guendouzi, the French midfielder who was also making his Premier League bow.
The 19-year-old did not look phased despite the big step up from playing in Ligue 2 with Lorient last season to coming up against Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering Premier League champions.
Emery spoke about Guendouzi after the game and hailed his performance, also stating that he can see him improving very quickly the more time he spends on the pitch.

‘It’s his first match here in the Premier League. He has personality and quality and if he is on the pitch he is improving very quickly,’ the 46-year-old is quoted in the Metro.
Arsenal became known for handing opportunities to young players during the Wenger era, and will be pleased to see Emery seems ready to continue that tradition after finding a real gem in Guendouzi.
Disappointing result against Manchester City.
We have to be strong and continue the work ???
It’s the beginning of the adventure ??
