Arsenal manager Unai Emery has reportedly instructed his club to table a transfer bid of £29million for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
The Spanish tactician seems to rate Gomes highly despite his struggles in his two seasons at the Nou Camp as he tries to bring him to the Emirates Stadium, according to Don Balon.

The Portugal international was highly rated during his time at Valencia, but has not played as often at Barcelona and could probably do with a move to revive his career.
Arsenal would likely find more room for him, with players like Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny looking highly unconvincing in midfield in recent times.
Still, this would not be without its risks as it remains to be seen if Gomes can truly get his confidence back in the high-pressure world of Premier League football, particularly at a club where he’d likely need to hit the ground running.
Arsenal fans are desperate for a new era of success after replacing Arsene Wenger with Emery this summer, and it perhaps seems unlikely Gomes has the mentality to flourish in this environment.
