Manchester United are reportedly in advanced talks over signing one of Europe’s most exciting young players in the form of Ajax forward Justin Kluivert.
According to the Daily Mirror, Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the 18-year-old winger, who has shone in the Eredivisie since making his first-team breakthrough last season.
Kluivert is the son of legendary Dutch striker Patrick, and the Mirror report that Mourinho has known him and been a fan of his for a while.
It is claimed that talks to bring Kluivert to Old Trafford are at an advanced stage, which could be bad news for United’s rivals Tottenham, who also appear to be among his admirers.
Sky Sports reported that Spurs scouted the teenager earlier this season, and they have successfully raided Ajax for some of their best talent on a number of occasions in recent years.
Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen were poached from the Amsterdam giants and have gone on to become big names in the Premier League, while Davinson Sanchez has also shone since his move from Ajax to Tottenham just last summer.
Still, the Mirror seemingly has United winning the race for Kluivert’s signature, in what should be another fine addition to their attack following their January signing of Alexis Sanchez.
