Man Utd are reportedly on the verge of a swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez this month, and it’s claimed that might not be the last they’re involved in.

As per Sky Sports, Sanchez is closing in on a move to Old Trafford, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan will move in the opposite direction and join Arsenal.

It’s noted how it’s expected to be a straight swap deal, and that could be the template used in this latest touted deal involving United and Real Madrid.

According to Don Balon, as re-reported by The Express, David De Gea is still seeking a return to Spain, and so Jose Mourinho could choose to use that in a bid to prise Gareth Bale away from Real Madrid.

Bale is valued at €90m by Madrid while De Gea has an €80m price-tag, as per the report, and so that has led to the suggestion of a possible swap while an additional cash injection could still be involved to level up the deal.

On one hand, United should be desperate to hold on to their current shot-stopper who has established himself as a world-class operator with countless fine performances in recent years.

However, Bale, 28, has seemingly started the process of putting his injury nightmares behind him as he has featured in the last four La Liga games, scoring four goals and gradually playing heavy minutes.

That comes after countless setbacks in the last three seasons as the number of appearances he has made has steadily fallen, but if he can now steer clear of setbacks, then perhaps this deal wouldn’t seem so bad.

It will likely split opinion as many Man Utd fans won’t want to see De Gea leave for whatever money or player such is his importance to the team and class, but time will tell if it becomes a concern in the summer.
