If it wasn’t difficult enough dealing with the pressure from Newcastle United players, Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas also had Kevin Friend on his case.
Midway through an entertaining first half at Stamford Bridge which saw the hosts fall behind before mounting a comeback, Fabregas found himself in space and was calling for the ball.
Hilariously though, he was shoved over by referee Kevin Friend, as seen in the videos below, before he could receive the ball, gifting possession back to the visitors.
Fortunately, Friend didn’t get a torrent of abuse from the Chelsea faithful thereafter as the scoreline changed in their favour and they were probably happier about that.
However, it was certainly a clumsy effort from the official, and it’s fair to say that Fabregas probably didn’t appreciate it…
