Mourinho could try something different against Tottenham.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly fuming with two key United players ahead of this weekend’s clash against Tottenham.

The Red Devils lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town last week, giving them just their first league defeat of the season and putting them five points behind leaders Manchester City.

According to the Independent, Mourinho singled out Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial for criticism after the game, and is now ready to make a number of changes to his line up for the visit of Spurs.

United host Tottenham at Old Trafford for Saturday’s early kickoff, and will be desperate to bounce back after their setback against Huddersfield, while Mauricio Pochettino’s men arrive in good form after thrashing Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley.

Mourinho won’t want any passengers in his United side, and it seems Herrera and Martial’s performances deeply concerned Mourinho as they lost at the weekend.

United have since bounced back with a League Cup victory at Swansea City, but the manager will feel he has to get his team selection spot on against a team as strong as Tottenham.

Herrera has not been a regular for United so far this season, with summer signing Nemanja Matic blocking his place in the first-team, while Marouane Fellaini has also been one of the club’s most improved performers.

With Fellaini and Paul Pogba currently injured, however, it remains to be seen how many options Mourinho really has if he is to reshuffle his side in this weekend’s crucial title race six-pointer.
