Could he end up back at United?
Manchester United slipped to defeat at Huddersfield this weekend, and some fans are clearly keeping an eye on players who could improve their squad for the long season ahead.
Now five points behind league leaders Manchester City, United could do with taking a look at how their former flop Memphis Depay is getting along in France.

The Dutch winger couldn’t find his best form in his brief spell at United, despite arriving at Old Trafford as one of Europe’s brightest young prospects at the time after his breakthrough at PSV.
Now with Lyon, Depay seems to be getting back to his best, and hit a superb hat-trick in a 5-0 trouncing of Troyes in Ligue 1 today.

Depay produced two instinctive finishes with plenty of quality before completing his hat-trick with a cheeky ‘panenka’ penalty, showing he’s certainly got his confidence back.
Inevitably, this has set some United fans off – though not many seem to have remembered the Red Devils have a buy-back clause option written into his Lyon contract.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News when Depay left United in January, Mourinho insisted that a player with Depay’s potential have the option to return to the club if he ends up fulfilling his potential in the future.
So that’s good news for this lot then…
Why don’t we bring back Memphis Depay
