Newcastle Untied midfielder Siem de Jong is seeking assurances that he will play a major role in the Magpies starting line-up going forward.
De Jong’s agent Louis Laros has told Caught Offside’s Eren Sarigul that his client is looking to remain at Newcastle however, wants to be an important member of the team.
The Newcastle based Chronicle has linked the Turkish giants Fenerbahce with a move for the Netherlands international. De Jong has made just four starts in the Premier League for Newcastle since signing from Ajax back in 2014.
“I think about everything. If the club says I may be sold or rented out, I look at all the possibilities,” De Jong is quoted as saying by the Chronicle.
The Daily Star state that Newcastle boss Benitez is expected to overhaul his under performing squad over the summer transfer window as the club look to make a swift return to the Premier League.
De Jong provided one assist and scored one goal in 23 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions last season. However, the Netherlands international wasn’t given a single start in the final 10 matches under Rafa Benitez.
