AZ Alkmaar frontman Vincent Janssen has revealed that he will be keeping his phone with him at all times this summer just in case he gets a call from a Premier League side.
The 21-year-old is coming off the back of an astonishing year in the Eredivisie, having scored 27 goals in 34 appearances, helping AZ to third place in the process.
Not only has his fine form seen him receive international recognition from the Netherlands—which resulted in him scoring three goals in his first five matches for the Oranje—but has also prompted interest from the EPL.
Indeed, Arsenal have been heavily linked to the forward’s signature, with the Gunners understood to see the youngster as the kind of player who could offer them the consistent goal threat they’ve arguably been lacking in recent seasons.
Fans of the North London giants ought to be boosted by the player’s latest comments, with Janssen confirming that he’s keen on a move this summer.
“I want to make a step, that is clear,” the forward told Fox Sports [as per Goal], “but there is no white smoke just now.
