Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius has reportedly arrived in Liverpool to undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Premier League giants this summer.
According to Sky Sports, the 22-year-old has agreed personal terms with the club while Liverpool have already met his release clause with the Bundesliga outfit.
In turn, it appears as though the transfer will be confirmed shortly, with Karius expected to remain in the city for the next few days, as per Sky Sports.
His arrival will be a concern for current number one Simon Mignolet, who despite doing a solid job for the most part this season, has been guilty of making some high-profile mistakes.
As a result, it has raised question marks over whether or not he will continue between the posts, with Karius now likely to at least provide competition as of next season if his move is completed.
As a whole, it is turning out to be a busy summer already for Jurgen Klopp who has wasted little time in getting his preferred targets signed up.
Karius will become Liverpool’s third new signing after Joel Matip and Marko Grujic, and it’s widely expected that more will follow in the coming months.
Klopp has shown his influence already this season, but with the benefit of an entire transfer window to mould the squad further, next season could be an exciting one for Liverpool fans despite the disappointment of missing out on the Champions League in their defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final last week.
