At an estimated wage of £75,000-a-week, Neymar is making a pittance compared to other players of comparable production – let alone comparable skill. As a result, the Barcelona megastar is eagerly chasing a new contract, but the La Liga giants may not be the ones who give it to him.
According to the Metro and the Sun, Man United have joined PSG and Real Madrid in making offers to the Brazilian scoring machine. Though Neymar is believed to be in contract talks with Barcelona, he has yet to sign a new deal and is seeking a major pay raise.
Neymar finished his 2015-16 campaign with 30 goals in 48 total matches along with 20 total assists.
Despite finishing with almost half as many total goals as Barcelona teammate Luis Suarez, many executives view Neymar as a primary target who can lead their teams for the next decade – and Man United vice-chairman Ed Woodward is one of them.
