Remember Reece Oxford? You know, that teenager who kept Mesut Ozil in his pocket on the opening day of the season and then disappeared off the radar somewhat…
Well that same West Ham United wonderkid could now be on his way to Arsenal, after rejecting a new contract with the Hammers.
Sky Sports report that he has turned down an offer from West Ham, but they add that his current club will demand in excess of £10m to sell him.
However, the Daily Star suggest that the Gunners – as well as Manchester City and Manchester United – are eyeing a £10m swoop for the England youth star, so it will be interesting to see if the Hammers are willing to compromise.
Although he has struggled to maintain the incredible level of performance he produced on his debut at the Emirates Stadium, Oxford did make 12 senior appearances for West Ham this season.
His last was as a late sub in a 3-0 win over West Brom in April.
