Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino is understood to have made Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana his top summer transfer target.
The Argentine coach was influential in Lallana’s development during their mutual time together at Southampton, and according to The Sun, the manager is keen on a reunion.
The tabloid report that Pochettino is planning to ask Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to make Lallana his primary summer transfer target, with the former centre-back understood to have previously implored the club’s hierarchy to sign the versatile midfielder.
27-year-old Lallana hasn’t always impressed at Liverpool since moving to Anfield from the south coast, and it remained to be seen whether he would kick on after an underwhelming maiden campaign on Merseyside.
However, this season, Lallana has begun to repay his transfer fee, having scored four goals and contributed six assists in the EPL this season.

He’s also impressed in the Europa League as Liverpool have reached the final, having scored three goals and contributed one assist in the Reds’ run to the final.
Indeed, Pochettino may well be keeping an eye on Liverpool’s Europa League final against Sevilla and hoping that the north-west heavyweights will fall short, knowing that the unique allure of the Champions League could be a key bargaining tool in bringing the midfielder to White Hart Lane.
