West Ham United are understood to be plotting a move to sign Liverpool striker Christian Benteke.
According to the Mirror, the ambitious Hammers are primed to make a bid of £25 million as they look to bring the Belgium international to East London.
West Ham still have two matches to play this season—including a potential Champions League decider against Manchester United in the final match at the Boleyn Ground on Tuesday evening—but already the Hammers are looking ahead to next season.
The club’s co-owner David Sullivan has confirmed that the Irons have already made a bid of approximately £23.7 million for a new—unnamed hitman—as per Sky Sports, and the Mirror clearly believe that a move for Benteke is imminent.
A switch to the Olympic Stadium may represent an ideal escape route for Benteke, who has endured a miserable maiden season at Anfield.
