Borussia Dortmund teenager Christian Pulisic has been enjoying a breakout season in Germany after spending last season in the academy under Jurgen Klopp. Recent reports have indicated that Klopp – now with Liverpool – wants to bring his prized wonderkid to Anfield, but may face new opposition from major Premier League and La Liga rivals.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City and Real Madrid have both entered the transfer race for the 17-year-old American. NYC FC sporting director Claudio Reyna reportedly scouted Pulisic heavily over the international break and is believed to have informed Man City of his value. Real Madrid, on the other hand, are believed to be in the market for more top-quality teenage prospects.
The young midfielder became the youngest non-German to score a Bundesliga goal when he netted against Hamburg two weeks ago at the age of 17 years, 219 days. The following week he added another goal in a 3-0 win over Stuttgart.
Last month Pulisic became the youngest player in USMNT history to be capped in a World Cup qualifier.
