Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a move to Manchester United after his brother sparked speculation on Twitter.
24 hours after the Red Devils had secured a 1-0 win over Aston Villa, Theo Griezmann sent a tweet that read “Glory glory Man United” out to his followers.
Now, naturally the obvious answer to this scenario is that the French international’s sibling is a United fan and was merely celebrating their win a bit later than the rest of the club’s supporters.
Glory glory Man united ! ????????????????

However, that doesn’t make a news story and many have linked his tweet with a suggestion that it could mean a possible move to Old Trafford for his brother.
With Atleti in the midst of a La Liga title race and having advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League, it would seemingly make little sense for Griezmann to leave Diego Simeone’s side this summer.
Despite the fact that United remain one of the biggest clubs in world football and will be willing to spend significantly ahead of next season to ensure that they are competitive both at home and abroad next season, it is difficult to see a scenario in which the Frenchman would make the switch.
In turn, United fans are likely to be left disappointed over what appears to be an innocent tweet, with the club likely to be forced to look elsewhere this summer for individuals that can bolster their squad.
The more immediate focus will be on the end of this campaign, as Louis van Gaal’s men remain four points adrift of a top-four finish with five games remaining as they look to secure Champions League football next season.
Provided that they do so, it will undoubtedly aid their bid to target players of the ilk of Griezmann ahead of next year.
