Goals from Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi secured all three points for Arsene Wenger’s men, although it was an impressive all-round performance from the Gunners.

Having crashed out of the FA Cup and Champions League over the past seven days, Wenger needed a reaction from his players in order to save their season and keep them in contention for a domestic title.

The Gunners started the game 11 points adrift of league leaders Leicester City, but with a game in hand still in their advantage, the north London outfit will hope to now continue to apply pressure on those above them as they await the rest of the weekend’s results.

Wenger will be particularly pleased with Iwobi’s performance as the 19-year-old grabbed his first Premier League goal on his first start in the league, having broken free on the counter attack and cooly sent the ball through Joel Robles’ legs and into the back of the net.

However, as seen above, the first goal involved excellent build up play between Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil which was finished by Welbeck and in turn was vintage Arsenal.

Banners were held up after the game by some disgruntled fans suggesting that change was still required in terms of the manager, but more performances such as that seen on Saturday will be a welcome boost for all concerned.
