Omar Elabdellaoui was heavily scouted by Manchester United this past January, but a bid for the Norwegian right-back was rejected by his club Olympiacos. With the team in desperate need of more defenders this calendar year, it appears that Man United are going to make another run at him.
According to the Metro, Man United had scouts in attendance for Elabdellaoui’s match for Olympiacos’ Europa League match against Anderlecht this past week. Per the source, Man United offered the Greek club £7 million back in January.
Elabdellaoui first signed with Manchester City back in 2011 but never played for the City first team. He was loaned out to Stromsgodset, Feyenoord and Eintracht Braunschweig over his two years with the Citizens before they let him go to the Greek giants in 2014.
He has been a solid starter for Olympiacos since joining the team and has played 14 matches in Europe between the Champions League and Europa League.
