Liverpool announced the impending arrival of Joel Matip earlier today and are already understood to be lining up the signing of another soon-to-be Bundesliga free agent.
Matip, a Cameroonian international defender who can also play as a holding midfielder, will join the Reds when his contract with Schalke expires at the end of the season.

And The People claims that Jurgen Klopp wants to use his knowledge of the German market again to snare Borussia Monchengladbach star Havard Nordtveit for nothing.
Nordtveit came through Arsenal’s academy after being plucked from Norway by Arsene Wenger, but failed to make a single senior appearance for the Gunners and left in 2010.
He was snapped up by Gladbach and has developed into a key player for them over five years – making 174 appearances and scoring 12 goals from a defensive midfield position.
The 25-year-old’s Gladbach contract is up in the summer and he is free to talk to clubs from abroad now. The People reckon that Klopp wants him in his squad next season.
There is expected to be a major overhaul of the playing staff at Anfield, and Klopp does not appear to be wasting any time, making the spine of his team the first priority.
