Liverpool fans are already getting the torches and pitchforks ready to chase Christian Benteke out of town after his abysmal performance in the club’s FA Cup loss to West Ham United. They may be a bit relieved, however, to find out that the Reds are already chasing a new striker in Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez.

According to RealMadridNews.com, Liverpool have expressed interested in Jese as a possible alternative to Jurgen Klopp’s ideal striker target: Borussia Dortmund scoring machine Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Although Jese has consistently stated that he is fine at Real Madrid, he has received significantly less playing time with Los Blancos than he might otherwise earn playing for Liverpool.

Since 2013, Jese has made 48 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 10 goals.

Jese won the Golden Boot in the Euro Under-19 Championship in 2012 after scoring five goals. The following season he was awarded the Bronze Boot for his performance in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup after converting another five goals.
