Our pals over at Empire of the Kop have uncovered an outrageous stat that shows where Liverpool would be this season if it wasn’t for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet’s mistakes.
The Reds handed the Belgian international a five-year contract recently, despite the protestations of their fans, and once again came in for some justified criticism again this weekend as his mistake allowed Sunderland’s Adam Johnson to stage a fightback.
And citing The Anfield Chat, this shocking piece of information has come to light to further damn the 27-year-old.
If it was not for Simon Mignolet costing Liverpool an approximate 15 points this season we would be 2nd.

And though that’s a pretty damning stat, WhoScored summed it up even further with a similar show that paints the goalkeeper in a less than favourable light.
Simon Mignolet: Has made more errors that have led directly to a goal (9) than any other player in the last 3 Premier League seasons #LFC

With the Reds set to take on West Ham in the FA Cup on Tuesday night, it would surely mark the ideal time to blood Welshman Danny Ward in the first team.
